Dear Nevadans,

Most solicitation letters wait till the last paragraph to ask for your help, we want to ask you right up front so as not to waste your time. We need your help now to raise $250,000.

Nevada is not alone with its fiscal problems, job losses; cut backs and reduced tax revenue. But unlike other states, Nevada is in a unique and enviable place if we, the citizens of this State will just open our eyes and minds to one of our greatest assets. This asset can be the solution to many of our fiscal problems. This solution immediately saves hundreds of jobs. It initiates the possibility of 3,000 to 5,000 new construction jobs for several years, as well as significant numbers of very high paying jobs. Estimated revenues to the state will be in the billions; saving public and private sector jobs.

We at Nevadans 4 Carbon Free Energy (NV4CFE) are not politicians, but concerned Nevadans who have been working on a plan to utilize Yucca Mountain, and to convert it into a true resource for the citizens of this state. The initial phase of our plan is to have Nevada become a leader in the world in the area of storing, reprocessing, and recycling nuclear assets. This would ultimately create a world class Energy Park. Nuclear assets are the spent fuel rods stored in over one hundred sites in 34 states. These assets/fuel rods are like money in the bank; not only can we be compensated for storage now, but in the future they can be reprocessed and sold back to these utilities and others. Although current reprocessing technology is not commercially viable today, we strongly believe that this country, which put a man on the moon in less than ten years, can perfect the technology to safely and profitably reprocess and recycle in the near future.

Our non-profit corporation (501c4) oversees the entire process, including a Permanent Trust Fund fashioned after the Alaska Permanent Fund to distribute annual dividends directly to the people of Nevada, provide needed resources to the State General Fund, and the operation of the energy park. We envision one day becoming the “Silicon Valley” of the nuclear industry with all the profits being used to benefit Nevadans and support jobs throughout Nevada’s economy for generations to come. Our State government leaders have not demonstrated the ability to solve our fiscal problems, and we are already seeing the results of their lack of leadership. Continuing to “kick the budget can” down the road to the next legislative session is no solution. Increasing taxes in this economy would be a disaster. Our vision for a comprehensive Energy Park will save existing jobs and bring new jobs and economic prosperity to Nevada.

This is why we ask your help now, we need to raise $250,000 in the next two months so we can get this message out to all the people of our state, we need you to tell everyone you know about our efforts, and we need you to write to your State legislators and tell them you want them to join in our effort. This won’t be easy, but with your help we can make the changes to the Federal and State laws concerning Yucca and begin the process to open the site.
